Teen Challenge Middle Georgia is a twelve-month residential restoration program assisting adult males (17+) in recovering from life-controlling additctions. In addition, our students work on overcoming rebellion and the self-destructive behaviors associated with their addictions.
The staff of Teen Challenge mentors students daily during their twelve month stay. Through consistent Bible study, prayer, and personal accountability, our students are encouraged to apply the truths of God's Word to their thoughts and actions in everyday life.
The Teen Challenge program consists of four levels, all focusing on spiritual and emotional wellness. A pastoral counselor is assigned to each resident to help meet their spiritual needs, along with a certified addictions counselor who combines the latest in therapeutic addiction counseling, family counseling, group therapy and spiritual development.
Teen Challenge Middle Georgia is aware that employment is an essential part of life, both for practical reasons and for personal fulfillment. We therefore provide jobsite training and opportunities for each student to begin to rebuild their work ethic, as these skills are also necessary in the management of their sobriety and in their Walk with Christ. Although most of our jobsites are labor related, we encourage our students to realize that worksite integrity, servanthood, and good work ethics are essential tools which will reap benefits no matter which field they choose when they return to work.
We are committed to making a difference in people's lives, whether they are a user or a victim, by bringing hope, help, and a horizon to the seemingly endless desperate circumstances that drugs and alcohol have brought into their lives. Being touched by the infirmities of our society, we are continually involved in many venues of outreach and evangelism - schools, Churches, communities, neighborhoods, and parking lots - wherever we can share the message and the answer to this crisis. During these events, we share songs, drama, statistics, facts, and messages of hope to the listeners; but by far, the student's testimony has the biggest impact. The most powerful message is a real life that is being transformed.
